Process Evaluation of Scrapped Copper Wire Cable

Background

Customer wants to evaluate separation of copper wire cable from plastic

Procedure

Cable was initially run through a Granulator. Sieve analysis was performed on the granulated sample. Sample was then passed over a vibrating screen for a total of two passes. Overs were weighed and put aside, throughs were weighed and rescreened through a vibrating screen, for two passes. Overs and throughs from this screening were collected and weighed. Mesh material was next passed over a Gravity Separator.
